For over a decade, Shak Hill has been helping individuals and families identify their dreams, goals, family dynamics and legacy concerns. In a caring way, Shak guides others through the sometimes confusing world of finances, money, estate planning and so much more.
Along the way, Shak has written two ground breaking books. The first, A Woman's Guide to Financial Planning was written for his mother. After twenty-two years of marriage and five sons (Shak is number 2) his mom was divorced. She had no financial experience. Shak wrote this important work to walk the woman through the financial decision process. Whether widowed, divorced or single, this guide is a must read to avoid common mistakes, learn how to create a long term financial plan, and to ensure that the legacy you intend is the legacy you leave.
The second, Shak wrote When the Doctor Says It's Cancer: A Caring Financial Plan for Life for his wife, Robin. Robin enjoys a vibrant and healthy life, but in 1993, things were much different. While pregnant with their second child, Robin was diagnosed with Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma. Together, Shak and Robin focused on the disease, treatment and survival. Unfortunately, they did not focus on anything else, including their finances. Shak discusses hidden treasures, traps to be avoided, and why it is vital to not put the finances aside.
"A cancer diagnosis is no longer a death sentence, " Shak says, "but it should be a wakeup call. The Federal Government lets is citizens make financial mistakes, because it is in their favor. Let this book be your roadmap to avoid those very mistakes."
Although the word "cancer" is in the title, this important work covers anyone with life threatening conditions.
Shak enjoys bringing the sometimes complicated topic of finances to individuals, groups and conferences. Please review the "About the Author" page to invite Shak to speak with your group.
"While alive, I hope you live." Shak continues, "Both of these books will help make life easier."
